Plan with confidence

Planning Your Pool Construction Timeline

A pool project includes design and approvals as well as construction. Ask for a schedule that identifies both, with assumptions about selections, permits, site conditions, material availability, and weather. A construction estimate alone is not the total time from first call to swimming.

Before construction

The initial conversation establishes goals and scope. Site evaluation, design decisions, pricing, and required approvals follow. Keep your survey and HOA information available, and make material selections when requested so the plan can move forward.

  • Consultation and property evaluation.
  • Design, selections, and proposal review.
  • Applicable municipal and private approvals.
  • A confirmed construction scope and start plan.

During construction

Ask the builder to explain the sequence for your design, the inspection points, and dependencies between trades. Site conditions, weather, approvals, and material availability may affect progress. Agree on how schedule changes and decisions will be communicated.

Before handover

Ask what needs to be complete before the pool can be used, including applicable final inspections, startup, and equipment orientation. Discuss care instructions, warranty documentation, and whom to contact after completion. Confirm your actual completion expectations with the project team.

Questions before your consultation

Can I choose a guaranteed swimming date at the first call?

A reliable completion commitment requires a defined scope and a review of the dependencies. Share your preferred date early, then ask what the proposed schedule assumes and how delays would be handled.

How can I help keep the project moving?

Provide property documents early, clarify your priorities, make selections on time, and respond to requests for approvals. Ask the project team which upcoming decisions depend on you.
